The Museum of the Future - made of our Notus prepreg

Updated: Jul 24, 2022

Now we can announce that the Nova Composites team has not only manufactured the AEOLOS P30, but also the façade of one of the most beautiful buildings in the world, the Museum of the Future in Dubai, with a height of 77.8 m and 9 floors.

Yesterday, February 22, 2022, Dubai has opened the “Museum of the Future” next to the Emirates Towers on Sheikh Zayed Road. The museum signifies a peek into the world 50 years from now, exhibiting and predicting how next-generation solutions — from artificial intelligence to augmented reality and identifying potential threats — can enhance and revolutionize humanity for the better.

The National Geographic recognized it as one of the world’s 14 most beautiful museums already. “It is an architectural and engineering marvel, confidently straddling the past and the future and applying advanced technology to traditional art forms,” United Arab Emirates officials said during the opening. But His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, vice president and prime minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai went a step further calling it “the most beautiful building on earth” in a tweet.

At Aeolos we are pleased to be part of this group of highly experienced composite specialists. Aeolos became part of Nova Holding in November to ensure future growth and access to advanced production methods, and last but not least we are happy to be part of this dedicated and competent team.

Nova signed a contract in early June 2020 to manufacture double curved suspended façade panels that enclose the façade and viewing platform.

The Museum of the Future is one of the most complex composite large buildings built to date. The flowing, ring-shaped form of the museum consists of a composite building shell clad in stainless steel and decorated with Arabic calligraphy. The Nova Composites team developed the design of the composite panels and the fire protection solutions for the composite components, and was also responsible for the fabrication and installation of the 1024 finished panels.

All 1024 panels were milled and manufactured individually. 17600sqm in total. All panels are made out of our self developed and inhouse produced NOTUS Prepregs. The fire resistant glassfiber panels are reinforced with Carbon prepreg.

A 15m long panel cured in our oven We received a very positive feedback from our client:

"... they delivered on time and within budget."

"... Well planned and, most importantly, the quality of the final product was never compromised."

"... I have no hesitation in recommending NOVA to future clients."
