Max Gurgel sailed in the Pursuit Race of the Dubai Offshore Racing Club on the AP30 on 14.12.2022. Unfortunately the evening race is sailed without gennaker, but Max was impressed with the sailing characteristics:
"Our speed to the other, much bigger was boats always very good, especially the angle upwinds was great, overall a better speed as a First 36.7 with new sails, we were far higher, but a little slower.
The AP30 is very well balanced and extremely agile. The only boats I know that are more agile are dinghies like the 505. It's wonderful how immediately at low speed the stern wave breaks away.
What is striking is how stiff the boat is, nothing gives, the mast bend over backstay is perfectly under control. The seating position as helmsman also fits. The sail can be trimmed perfectly via the jib trim facilities. I can´t wait to sail the boat under racing conditions in Europe."
Max Gurgel is a very experienced sailor and has won a lot of titel: European ORC Champion, Vice Double Hand World Champion, German ORC Champion, 1st Silverrudder 2022, ... The AEOLOS P30 will be at the boot Düsseldorf 2023:

Max Gurgel hat am 14.12.2022 das Pursuit Race des Dubai Offshore Racing Clubs auf der AP30 mitgesegelt. Leider wird das abendliche Rennen ohne Gennaker gesegelt, aber Max war von den Segeleigenschaften trotzdem beeindruckt:
"Unser Speed zu den anderen, viel größeren war Booten immer sehr gut, insbesondere die Höhe am Wind war krass, insgesamt etwas schneller als eine First 36.7 mit neuen Segeln, viel höher, aber etwas langsamer.
Die AP30 ist sehr gut balanciert und extrem agil. Die einzigen Boote, die ich kenne, die agiler sind, sind Jollen wie der 505er. Es ist wunderbar, wie sofort bei geringer Geschwindigkeit die Heckwelle abreisst.
Auffallend ist, wie steif das Boot ist, nichts gibt nach, die Mastbiegung über Achterstag ist perfekt im Griff. Auch die Sitzposition als Steuermann passt. Über die Focktrimm Einrichtungen lässt sich das Segel perfekt trimmen. Ich habe mega bock das Boot unter Regattabedingungen in Europa zu segeln."
